I have photos of a "Nelson" built by Nelson Bros, E. Saugus MA 6 HP single cyl gas engine. I am looking for any information on this maker and the engine. The nameplate model number looks like a backwards 3 1 and 1, 600.700 rpm, number 160. Thanks for any help. I believe this is the first one of these to come to the surface !
No info in any of my records ?
There are letters cast into the crankcase inspection plate-- possible to get a readable photo ? Interested in finding out more about this one !!!

Here is a photo of the crank cover. Believe this is a marine engine that was used in Maine. Want more info, too. Thanks.

Stephen

Good photo- Thanks.

I have to admit that I have never researched an old marine engine manufacturer that had a tag with the company name and the town and state they were in and been unable to have in my files or research absolutely no mention of them ??
This engine will go in my unknown file with your name and if any future info shows up I will let you know !
These mystery companies are in most cases listed in county or township business records but require a trip to the local library ??
