I understand that as a general rule, marine engines that were always used in soft water would be in better condition than the ones used in salt water. What should I look for in salt water used engines. I have a lead on 8-10 marine engines that saw nothing but salt water. Any chance that a salt water used engine be in good shape still and made to run again OR are they condemned to sit on a shelf in the shed? I would like to hear your comments on this. Thanks! Dennis, Dick day has a good article on salt damage, in the technical heading of this site I found this article, probably more than you want to know. http://www.oldmarineengine.com/technical/corrosion_1.html |
