The Model T engines came on board in 1910,
I believe the last ones were 1921 ?
The fourth number BACK in your serial number is 2,dating your eng as a 1912.
Gray's Model T engines were very well designed and engineered- very high quality engines, its a wonder to me that they weren't more popular ?

Yes, thank you for those superb illustrations! I have a T single as well and they are a very impressive engine for the period aren't they? You can see why Gray did as well as they did for so long: no cutting corners on design or manufacture. If they didn't sell so well perhaps the fishermen and watermen felt they looked a bit too lightly built compared to some of the great lumps of cast iron that were on the market then? And perhaps they looked a little too complex as well?
Whoever had mine appreciated it and took care of it: very few engines were keel-cooled in those days, but this one was. |

Thanks more than I can express for the info on the Gray. Richard, the info you provided is great but the type is very small. If possible could you provide a hard copy for my review. I would be happy to reimburse you for any cost you incurr.
