Hi I typed Olympia into your search box but no results were found.
I wonder if anyone has any of these engines or knows about their history?
Mine is 6.5 H.P.,single cylinder,Solex carb,SEM magneto,Lucas starter,brass water pump,over head valve,made in Finland,Almost all aluminum or magnesium,year unknown.
Also looking for pictures of these engines on the web if you know of any.
Please email me if you have any of these engines or know about them.

I just found this site and I'm thrilled about the contents.
Olympia is a Finnish engine maker but they do not exist anymore. Some parts are still available though. They were located in the town of Vasa on the finnish western coast and manufactured an impressive number of engines, mainly used in smaller fishing boats and pleasure craft.
Olympia is the brand name but the factory was called Suomen Moottoritehdas (Finnish Engine Works) They discontinued production in early 70ies. They were also big in producing marine mechanicl reduction gears. I have one 6 hp Olympia from 1937. The magneto is a swedish make
(Svenska Elektro Magnet, SEM).
If you are looking for Olympia parts, I can do some searching.

Hi mr Marcus ,
I am trilling olso when I saw your post.seems someone have experience about Olympia engine .
Recently I boght a Olympia marine engine single cylinder diesel. But there was not identify plate on it . Since two week I am working on it , but something is wrong , it doesent start , I gues I couldnt turn enough strong .
Could you help please ? Because I need all information .

The lever at the front of the engine looks like it might be a decompression valve.
This will let you spin the engine over, until you have enough speed, and you can then, close the decompression valve and the engine should fire.
If it does not fire, you should check to make sure there is no air in the fuel system.
There is probably a procedure to bleed out the air in the fuel system. If you cannot find that procedure, then find a friend who knows about small diesel engines for example, small Kubota tractors.
You may also need to have the injector cleaned. The holes in the injector are very very small (0.2 mm) , and you need to be very careful when you do that - it's best to take the injector to a diesel mechanic shop for cleaning.
As well, you need to make sure the fuel is new, and clean.
