I am probably one of the last on the OME site to find out how Caille is pronounced. I've heard it pronounced 'Kay', Kaylee, Kayl, and Kallie. This is the first time I have seen the pronunciation appear in a publication of the period (MotorBoat, August 25th, 1914). So, is 'Kall' the commonly accepted pronunciation?

When I first got into the hobby an old timer that got me started had two boats, he said one had a Nadler, the other had a "Kelly". When I saw the motor it was a Caille. Most people around here call it a "Caillee", but in their ads they have "pronounced Cail" at the bottom. |

The factory literature I've seen says "pronounced Cail" And I've met and talked with descendants of the Caille brothers. It definitely rhymes with pail, tail, fail, mail.... |

I once saw an ad that read "Caille rhymes with Gail" |
