Hi, can anyone tell me what the part is that is on a BMC 1.5 just to the right of the airfilter (the part with 2 x spade terminals) & if it needs a dial where can I obtain one from. Thx in advance,

I would guess oil preasure send unit.If your oil preasure gauge works it could be an extra.Sometimes guys use a second one that turns on an alternator or acsesories. |

Many thanks for the info Larry. I havn't got a "oil preasure" gauge, just a voltage gauge and temperature gauge hence the question. Then hopefully I can fit a oil gauge and would really like a speed gauge but havn't got a clue on where to purchase or how to fit either of them from scratch, so ANY help would be gratefully recieved. I have got the manual but it doesn't help. Regards. |

Based on the look of the mounting flange, angle to the block, proximity to the camshaft rather than the oil gallery, i'd say that it is a tachometer generator for a rpm gauge. Can you post a shot of the mounting style at the base of the unit? Cheers Nobby |

Hi Nobby, really hope your right that it is for a tachometer. I have attached another photo taken from a different engine but still the same unit? Regards, Don.. |

Yep tach generator, that big nut is female to a male stub that sticks out from that 2 bolt flange. If you unscrew that nut the unit will come off and you'll see the the drive with a square hole or more normally a slot that correlates to the piece that slots in to transmit rotation to the generator. Cheers Nobby |

Brill thx Nobby, just emailed A.S.A.P Supplies to see if they can source a tachometer & whatever else I might need in order to install a tachometer. Unless someone else can point me in the right direction? Many thanks for all your help. Regards, Don... |

Hi boating folk. The more I try to find my way,the more lost I get ---- I'm looking for a KELVIN P4R gearbox ---- or internal components, as I have killed my gearbox without even trying. It seems that gears with toothache is not a good deal, to make for happy boating.ANY help gratefully received!!! TA, Alex. |

Referring to the above request for a Kelvin P4 gearbox. My gearbox is a 1;1 direct box --- not a reduction box as mentioned. Confusion reigned as I thought the "R" denoted "REVERSE" ---- but it's for "REDUCTION." Regards, Alex. |
