Kyle, "How do you take the starter pully if the fly wheel" Sorry I don't know as I've never worked on a Blaxland. Plenty of people here have so I'm sure they will chime in. "How do you put the piston rings on the piston" Work one end of the ring into the top groove. Place a thin feeler gauge between the ring at this end and the piston. Run it around carefully and the ring will be in the top groove. You can then move it down to the second groove in exactly the same way if it is the lower ring you are putting on. "Hod do you put the piston pack together and in to the cylinder" Buy a ring compressor from an auto accessories or supply shop is the best way as it saves you having squashed and cut fingers. |

Just quickly How do you take the starter pully if the fly wheel You MUST support the flywheel hub with heavy steel plates cut closely to shaft for purpose and use a heavy press. Risk is damaging flywheel with the considerable tonnage needed. How do you put the piston rings on the piston - I just use thumbnails on these little engines but ring expander or strips thin metal is better. Precheck for vertical groove clearance of 1.5 thou (4 thou badly worn). Precheck pegs and location. Precheck that ring sits in groove beneath working surface and is not held proud by carbon and muck. Hod do you put the piston pack together and in to the cylinder Regular ring compressors do not work unless they can be split for removal. These engines have a generous taper at lower edge of cylinder. Simple to insert BUT you have to make sure the rings are not held out by carbon in grooves and ring gap must be OK and rings must be mating with pegs. Plus make sure the pistons go in with the deflector facing correctly. I have pulled apart 2 strokes where the piston was in backwards. |

the starter pulley is a two piece part that bolts to the back of the flywheel, no need to remove the flywheel, just the four bolts holding it on |

Not always a 2 piece - Mine is a single piece Aluminium pulley. Flywheel must be unmounted to fit. |

Hi Thanks for all of your input. I found out that all you had to do was get a piece of metal and put it in the hole on the starter pulley and hit it anti clock wise and it just screws off the flywheel |
