Any one have a source for high crown hex bolts ? The supplier C.Cook Enterprises in KY that had ads in GEM magazine for yrs no longer sells them ! Thanks |

Here is a source for high crown bolts. Unfortunately, we are 107 years too late to submit orders. Actually, my point in submitting this ad is to ponder the welding of the swaged or forged head to the shank to form the bolt (prior to threading). Was this a common method? I can see that the process saves stock but I am surprised that the handling costs of forging the head in one operation, welding it to the shank as a second operation, and then machining or swaging the weld to the diameter of the shank as a third operation is a saving over turning swaged or forged hex stock in a two step operation. |

They look accurate... A 1/4-20 x 1.25 was going for $5.50 or so. I have made a boat load of high crown stuff and that is reasonable if you consider making them your self. By hand, it takes a lot of time. |

Nice looking bolts at a fair price but the way folks cry the blues about the price of the brass Schebler bolts, I can't see those steel bolts flying off the shelf. George |
