There in md.we got 6+ inches of rain and some winds, but no big damage to trees. Got some real high tides and bank erosion.May be i can get back in the fields in a week or more. |

Happy Halloween! Us on the Eastern Shore faired well. Lots of rain but the wind wasn't too bad. The JOHN ARTHUR is fine and ready for a trip on Saturday. Didn't loose electricity and we all stayed dry.

South Eastern Mass inland is fine. Just rain and some wind. Depening on where you are you may or may not have power. We are some of the lucky ones that have power from a private utility and the power is always on. Yea TMLP
Mystic Seaport is open today with free admission so I guess they did ok.
From thier web page
Mystic Seaport is open, Wednesday, October 31, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. with free admission for all visitors. We will resume our normal operating schedule on November 1. Food service, the Museum Stores, and the Maritime Art Gallery may not be open depending on the power situation in Mystic. |

No serious wind or tide problems here. Tide was about 2 feet higher than a typical high tide here.
No power problems and rain not particularly heavy. |

Hi guys thanks you fore thinking of us at Mystic Seaport but no engines went under water and the rest of the museum fared well. I personally got hit with a big tree and have a hole in the roof and about a cord wood up their.

Was Glad to hear that your Museum survived the Sandy Storm and may I introduce myself as a Lifetime Northwest US Seattle, Wa. resident and I only experienced a comparison storm, with the Columbus Day Storm hear, October of 1962. You mentioned that your engines did not go underwater and I'm really interested in which engines you have there and especially any WW11 Engines...I was in the Coast Guard and went to Engineman school in 1963, at the Groton, Conneticut Training Center..the start of my career working on and selling the Detroit Diesel Engines,..which were used mainly in the Navy's Grey Marine Landing Craft 6-71's (64HN9)...Chuck |

Bruce,..Thanks for your responce and I especially enjoyed seeing your Marine Engine Collection on the Museum Web Site!...Especially the 6-71 Grey Marine engine built in 1939-40, that were used in the WW11 Navy Landing Craft and I have allot of Oringinal Parts available for them, plus a Twin-6-71 Model 12-005 & 12-006,
Complete Engine Pair, also used in later production Landing Craft and replaced with 12V-71's. Check out my eBay listing for them...Chuck |
