I am looking for any information I can get on an old Sterling Petrel marine engine that has been sitting in my family boathouse for ages. I have most of the original documentation that came with the engine and believe the model number is D2-12-15. Attached are some photos. Please have a look and any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Pat |

Greetings Patrick, The Sterling Petrel engine was developed in the late 1920s and sold through the 30s (and even some varieties sold into the 40s) as both a marine engine in right and left hand rotation as well as an industrial or fixed duty power source. They are strong engines but relatively low HP for their weight. But extremely reliable. Usually this engine delivers 225 HP. Do you have any pictures of the Engine ID tag and the other side showing what the coils, distributor(s) or Magnetos look like? This will help to date the engine. Cheers, Lew The "West Coast Sterling Guy!" |

Hello, I have a friend with a Sterling Petrel in a 1929 29' Hacker runabout in Canada and another friend Robert Mishko is currently rebuilding one. I can put you in touch with both of them if it would help. Peter |

I have a Turbocraft for sale. I would love to see someone save it but it is really rough. It is all there. I would also sell it to someone that needs parts to bring a nice one to life. It is an early 60s with cable steering and a Ford Y block. contact [email protected] |
