I am getting started building an XLNC launch which calls for the above engine. Does anyone know the shaft speed coming out of the gear and would a Palmer PW 27 engine be a suitable substitute. Thanks Doug |

The BH was rated 6 HSP at 2500 RPM. Reccomended prop 10X6, 3 blade Right hand. The PW-27 was 8 HSP at 2800 RPM. Reccomended prop 10X6 LEFT Handed. The Palmer/Wisconsin, 27 cubic inches (PW-27) used the Wisconsin Model AEH crankcase, crankshaft internal gearing with the model AFH piston. Palmer supplied the watercooled cylinder and marine trim. The PW-27 was the only single cylinder 4 cycle marine engine that turned clockwise facing the flywheel that Palmer Made. It was the 1957 replacement for the BH. The reverse gear was Paragon OXKB the same as the BH used after about 1953. The above shaft speeds and props assume no reduction gear is used. If I can be of any further help give me a shout. |

Hi, Ron here. I have a BH-25 that is missing some gears that drive the magneto (I think that's what's missing, I'm a novice at this) Are those parts available anywhere? Thanks for the help, bye. |
