hello there, collected this little engine the other day, looks like a dunn , was woundering if enyone can confirm this. Would love some feedback! can someone put a date to this little engine ? im in Australia thanks Steve Craig.

Thanks Ernie looks like a few parts missing regarding ignition. on the blue engine, there is a handle with what looks like a copper strip, i guess this is the timmer. can you thell what material that bushing that the copper strip wipes on be made off and would that bush be earthed to the engine. also in your opinion do you think the flywheel is original it has a diffeerent hole pattern again. thanks Steve. |

I have two small Dunn singles ... an early and a late. Early has no holes in flywheel & late has four. The late one is a little thicker than the other but does not look as thick as your 3-holer. The timer insulating bushing is made of a red material that I've seen on other engines also but I don't know what it is. There are suitable modern, machineable, high dielectric material but I've not seen the same dull, brick red color.

Steve, As far as I can tell the blue engine's ign is complete. Just needs some TLC. Jeff |
