I need a transmission for a1949Buchanan meteor. I am told that Buchanans are based on Hercules and should be compatible with Chriscrafts of the same era. I need one to mate with the 105HP single carb flathead6. If you have one or have info on compatibility or availability please contact me at 3062017878. |

There are quite a few Buchanan engines in the Muskoka area of Ontario.
You could try contacting the boat repair shops ( eg Windsor Boatworks, Doug Clark BoatRepair, Tom Adams Boat Restorer) .
You can also try contacting the boat museum in Gravenhurst (it's called the Grace and Speed Museum) who probably have a list of boat shops in the area.
I used to own one of those engines and you're right - they are all Hercules blocks.
