I have an old yanmar nts 70r motor which has been left in the weather for the last 25 yrs with no head. The piston is solidly corroded and ceased into the cylinder and I am wondering if you can help me with the best way to remove it. I can get a replacement still so could destroy if needs be but would rather more gentlemanly method if possible? |

If it's an aluminum piston I think you will have to destroy it. You will probably have to re-bore and go oversize. |

Melt it out with an oxy-acetylene torch? Watch out for pockets of air or grease exploding when you do, and by that I mean watch through a full face shield! |
