I'll be there "flying the flag" for the Australian Heritage Fleet - our first static engine display with about 4 to 6 engines and plenty of handout material on our heritage boats.

For those that haven't met me call and make yourself known to me. I'll be wearing my Old Marine Engine T-shirt.

The date is 5 October 2003 @ Davistown on the Central Coast (an hour and a half drive north of Sydney). Most will be setting up their displays from about 8.30am.

Mike Hingst will again be displaying a number of his engines. I'll also have two of mine a 3 HP Hornsby (same casting as the Hornet) and a Stuart P5. From the Museum I'll have a Hall, Tasman, Penguin, Vire, Riptide (outboard) and a small rowboat engine (perhaps US origin).

We'll organise for engine photos to be posted. Unfortunately, I don't yet have a digital camera - spending my money on parts and workshop equipment.

I can bring my early Vinco 2 1/2HP to put in your display if you wish, Tim.

Tim,

8.30am is a bit too late. My understanding is that the organisers want any vehicles off the reserve before the general public arrives.

I believe that they want exhibitors there by 6.00am.

I know I have a few phone calls from people who are driving fair distances about the early start.

By 8.30am you may find that you're carrying your engine from the carpark :(

Tim I'll leave one of my camera's with you for the day.

Regards

Mark S.

John,

The Vinco would be great. The Heritage Fleet is supposed to be allocated 18foot of space so there should be plenty of room. We will have a banner, flags, and plenty of handouts about our heritage boats (steam, sail, diesel) - and day cruises - its how we raise our funds. I'll also bring a few chairs.

Between us all we will have a good selection of engines. I've concentrated on Australian engines apart from my special Stuart interest. Mike H will be bringing a selection of other Aussie engines.

Yes, Mark is right. I meant most exhibitors will be set up my 8.30am - but obviosuly earlier. But having to be there by 6.00am is tough. Its a one and a half hour drive from Sydney. Maybe I'll be there by 6.30am.

Will ring you all in the coming week.

Our Heritage Fleet Engine display stand will be at the back of the Reserve (foreshore) just to the left as you walk down the end of Restella Ave that runs to the boat ramp. Mike Hingst should be set up next to us.

So how was the regatta? There doesnt seem to be any news or photos up yet.

Now, on 14(Friday) to 16(Sunday) November, there's the Tweed River Classic Boat Regatta.

This event commences with a meet, greet and sundown cruise aboard Golden Swan from 5:00pm Friday 14th (NSW Daylight Savings Time).
There is a cruise in convoy from the Homestead Caravan Park at Chinderah to Terranora Broadwater for lunch, and return for dinner at Chinderah (28 km round trip) on Saturday 15th. A sailpast and public viewing with other activities will be held on Sunday 16th.

I don't have a digital camera, but anyway I was flat out handing out leaflets and answering enquiries at our engine display the whole time.

A friend took some shots but lost them - flat battery. I'm chasing someone else for some photos - about time I followed up.
