I bought this Wico B2 as belonging on a two cylinder engine. Now that I can sit down and look at it closly, I'm not so sure whether it is for a single cylinder or a two cylinder. There is only one threaded terminal. There are two fixed 'studs' on each end that don't look like any terminal I have ever seen before. But, what else do they do? The mag exhibits resistance only once in each complete turn of the armature. What engine(s) was this mag originally designed for?

I have only seen motorcycle and Marine engines with the linked timing arm. I certainly do not know what this fits. Its one I haven't seen before |

Roger and Bill, Thanks for responding. I never think of going to Smokstak. So, now I know a couple of engines that the B's fit (Alpha Delaval, Novo) and that the fixed lugs on each end of the mag are in fact terminals. Neat! It's kind of discouraging to read that parts are hard to come by and that they are difficult to repair. I did run the mag on a Google search before posting it on the OME site but came up with virtually nothing. Lot's of stuff on Wico C's came up though. Half an hour ago I went back to Google to try again and realized that Google was automatically changing my search criteria from Wico B to Wico C. There is a little note that tells you that Google made that change but I didn't see it right away. |
