does anyone have sequence for winterizing a 1959 grey marine 109 6 cyl. |

Here's how I do it. Put fuel stabilizer in the fuel tank and top off the fuel tank with non ethanol containing fuel. Disconnect the fresh water pickup from the water pump and mount a short hose and place the opposite end in a 5 gallon bucket of 50/50 water antifreeze mix. Start the engine at idle and place another bucket at the exhaust outlet on the hull. When the exhaust water turns the color of the antifreeze; drizzle fresh oil into the breather.The exhaust will turn smoky(lubricates and coats the valves and cylinders). Stop the engine if it hasn't already stalled. Put an oily rag in the exhaust pipe. |

thanks Bruce, there seems to be a drain plug 4 or 5 inches up and back from the oil dip stick. It clearly has been removed so I did after running anti freeze through and clear water dripped out.I removed the thermostat housing and poured anti in it then ran pink, is this the only drain plug? All other plugs are painted. It was running at temp when I ran the anti freeze.
