Hello gent`s, new to this forum, but seems to be the right place! I`ve got a Swedish-built 30` mahogany boat from 1959, with fore- and aft cabin. It weighs in at about 5000lbs with it`s current engine; a hideous Volvo Penta (Indenor) 4-cyl diesel with an RB gear. Looking long and hard for a suitable substitute, I came across (and bought) a marinised (freshwater cooled) Humber 3-litre petrol engine. (Suited me fine, as I also have a few old British cars:-). However, I can find no info on these engines for marine installations. The only visible exterior differences to the car-engine is a twin carb set-up, and off course the obvious marine equipment. It is equipped with a Borg Warner 2:1 gear. I don`t know any more till I get it home, only seen photos of it yet. Any out there have any knowledge of them? Thanks, Tore |
