I found an old evinrude alto in the attic of my parents home. It hasn't been fired up in years. I want to put fresh fluid in the gear box ( I guess thats a correct name) down by the propeller. What type of lubricant should I use? Any help is appreciated. Bob |

It's called Lubriplate 105, which I believe is an Esso product. You can order it at a marine store, The usually don't stock it. |

Thank you for the info. One other question. There is a screw on the side of the housing, which I assume is for filling. With newer units there are two screws, one lower opening for the filler tube, and a upper screw hole to gauge as the full line. How much Lubriplate would you put in this lower unit? Thanks Bob |
