4 cylinder 5 X 5 was 60 Hp and the 6 cylinder was 100 hp, 350 lbs., and cost $2000 per an 1913 era catalog. They sold a 20" diameter X 38" pitch 3 blade prop for the 100 hp engine for $15. A 1911 advertisement in "Yachting" listed the hp. as 100 to 125. In 1910 they were pushing 20 to 26' boats in the 37 mph range.

Thank you for your responses. Have you any recommendations on how I may obtain one of these engines? Randy |

Randy, Paul has a friend that has an Emerson that is stressed. I have heard there is the possibility of one or two in New England. I think my engine (above) is one of the only complete engines. The water pump was replaced and I have the pump from Pauls friend to copy. It's not for sale and may very well, at some future date, end up in a museum. |
