Hi Folks, am new to this webpage and looks like a ton of onfo here well done to all.
I have just bought a boat with a green coloured 2 stroke 2 cylinder saildrive engine. The boat is 1984. The flywheel is horizontal as is the alternator on top of the engine.Any help would be greatly appreciated. It has not been ran for 6 years but it is not seized so I might go ahead and work on it. Thanks

I can not ID it for you, but if you plan on using it, I would pull it out and take it apart to verify condition. There is so much corrosion I would worry about the water jackets being blocked. I am guessing this is a salt water motor? It looks like a outboard motor power head set up for inboard use. I have not seen this set up before. Maybe an OMC product? |

Thanks for your input Roger.
The only places so far that I can see corrosion is the flywheel and alternator and bracket but the photo makes the corrosion look worse than it is. I probably will pull the engine and check it out properly (waterjackets etc.) It is a salt water motor.Yes the setup is unusual to me too. It is a saildrive and the leg under the boat is directly under the engine. Any other ideas of what it could be anyone? |

Hi Roger,
Looks like you hit it on the head on the first time,
Might be an OMC Zephyr Saildrive that uses an 20 to 25hp outboard type powerhead.
