I am looking at an older boat with a newer Volvo D255 diesel engine. Anyone out there have knowledge of this engine's pros and cons? It would be appreciated. |

I have this engine with sail drive in our Bavaria 38. Done About 800hours. Very pleased with it no probs so far except one noisy tappet which I must get sorted. Not happy with price of service through local Volvo agent though. (NZ)$854 for engine oil and filters and saildrive leg- replace oil and lubricate prop. |
