I now have two Phantom Four-75 and the original color of one of them is that green color!
The repainted one is red!
...but which one of them is right??

Could it be that the 75:s are green and the 85:s are red?

Does anyone know the correct color for a 1936 16hp Sea Scout. It appears to be black to the metal.

The older 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder were green, when the V-8's came where red and made by AMC not GMC. The two are quite different. I have some green left in spray can that was formulated for Gray Marine in Oshkosh, WI prior to it being sold. They still will make the color but you have to purchace large quanities of it. I now take a dried sample to a firm that will blend it for me but I have to purchace a least 3 cans at around $25 each.

# Frank!
Do you have any type of code for that color?
I mean like a NCS-code or similar?

I bought my Graymarine paint from Duby Marine and they were bought out by Graymarineparts.com. They have the red paint but not gray-green. I'd call Dave VanNess of http://www.vannessengineering.com/ as I still believe he's the authority on the subject. It seems to me that the paint color was something like 1950 Pontiac gray but don't hold me to it. VanNess will know.

I just removed the nameplate from the exhaust manifold of my 1956 Gray 100. Under the paint is the same color as Mike McIntyre's light green F-85. As far as I can tell, this is identical to the 1957 Ford "Cumberland Green" paint color. I just ordered a quart of it from my local auto paint store. They called DuPont and the current DuPont code for this tint of light blue-gray, green is GS266.

I acquired a "Barn Find" 1959 Cruis-Along Angler 22 with a Gray 109. It had been rebuilt and painted black except the manifold. The Manifold is a silver color and has a custom badge that says "Built for Cruis-Along by Gray Marine"
It looks as if the Manifold could be the original paint. When looking at other 109's with special badges on them (Century and Trojan are common) I have seen a few of these in Silver-grey also. Anybody have any ideas if these particular engines would have come in silver instead of the Green color? Probably will begin painting next week!
