im a scrapper in the hi desert and i found a 50 foot ww2 boat it has a 64HN9 complete the old lady i bought it from said they got it from gov auction.the boat is no good anybody looking for a engine |

Chevy Bob,.. I have been around these 64HN9 6-71 Detroit GM Diesel Marine Engines for over 45 Years and have one with a PTO Housing, For Sale on eBay right now. The market for them now is for the Museums and or a Collector,..the buyers no longer put them into working boats anymore...Does yours run now and is it complete, just a tired old engine? Chuck |

IM not sure if it runs yet the lady i bought it from said her husband did have it going at one time but he got sick and passed away. it is all complete except the drive shaft and prop are gone i will know more when i get it home. dont know much about diesel motors,checklist to see if it is any good?? anybody ?? |

Bob,..I could send you some pictures of a Complete 64HN9 Grey Marine Engine,..so you could compare and see what you have. A complete original 64HN9 is sellable to the Collectors and Museums. Send me your e-mail address, so I can send you some pictures. Chuck |
