I have an unrestored Universal Super Four engine.
Don't need it for my project that required a Utility Four. Would like to sell the S4. $250

Think I'm going to need a head gasket for my Utility Four. Anyone know of a source?

Also, is there a more efficient raw water cooling pump than the brass-geared one my engine now has? I recently had the pump rebuilt and it still has "issues".

When I rebuilt my Flexifour, I searched and could not find a head gasket. I ended up using the old gasket. This by the way is fairly common. I suggest cleaning up the old one and then use a copper spray gasket compound when you put it back together.

COPPER SPRAY GASKET COMPOUND - is that a NAPA thing and if not who sells it?

Thanks

Yes, any decent auto supply will have the copper spray gasket. There are several brands but I prefer the Permatex. It is designed specifically for things like head gaskets and exhaust manifolds. You spray the old (or even new) gasket on both sides. Give the old one a couple coats.

This is NOT the copper RTV silicone in a tube.

Just lay the gasket on the top of your trash can and spray one side at a time. Spray so it is dripping off then install the gasket right away.
Do NOT do this on a compositon (non metalic) gasket.
Yup Permatex is the good stuff. I have used many many cans of it over the years
If you can't find coper gasket spray plain old high temp silver spray paint works good too.
