i have a 36 foot 1973 silverton fly bridge boat with twin 351w ford motors. they were converted by palmer. they say palmer 220 on the valve covers. i need help finding parts for these engine's. i have tried alot of different places and can find nothing for the ignition and the exhaust risers and manifolds. can anyone help me???? the port motor backfires through the carb at 3000 rpm's after 1 minute of run time. but runs fine at 2000 rpm's. help |

Sorry I cannot help just not qualified to comment on this sort of problem. My Palmer qualifications are more around 1910 than 2010. I am sure there are folks on the page who can give you advice. |

There are many possible reasons for your "backfire". Ignition crossfire under load and/or sticking valve (usually exhaust), broken or weak valve spring come to mind. Both are common, but no means the only culprit. David |

You should be able to find ignition parts as those engines were used many places. If you have the number off the distributor i could look some. |
