Hi Leigh, Your engine is rated at 3.5 hp. If you need a workshop manual or owners manual contact the people here. http://www.minardsdiesel.com/ They are very helpful. I have a copy of both booklets. They are only photo copies, but do the job. Nice engine you have there. Paul. |

Thanks Paul.Good news about 3.5hp as when going will be fitted into a 15ft restored motor boat and i,m in Tasmania and any boat powered with 4hp plus requires regostration and a licence to operate |

That should read. Tasman Peninsula. Leigh, the most important thing with these engines is the prop. Your manual, when you get one, will give you a recommended prop size. Stick to that prop. I have never seen any of the NTS series engines run properly with anything other than the recommended prop. Good luck. Paul. |

Hi Leigh, yes I know that boat and have known it's owner most of my life. Minnards are good to deal with, you should have no problems. I think the YSE-8, rotation is opposite to the NTS, ????? . Not sure. Paul. |

Hi Paul, Have got the fuel pump working. There was brass factory fitted shims between pump housing and block. four of,removed one at a time till got a squirt of diesil on rotation off the cam.Is cracking really well at the injector but will only give a half hearted fire.Been cranking my ring out till i nearly dry reach ,ha ha but she want go ,plenty of compression.Don,t want to pull the head off till i know if i can get a gasket from Minnards,.Would she only spray enough fuel that is needed and any excess return .if i,ve taken one shim to many out.I,m probly a bit keen to get her going Paul as i have,nt even got the new stem or replaced the planks on the boat yet, she,s still sitting under the trees,,,,,,,,,,, Cheers Leigh |

You may possibly need to get the injector serviced. Any injector service centre should be able to do that for you. I would be reluctant to remove the shims till, you knew their purpose. A call to Minnards at this stage might help you. Paul. |

Hi Leigh, Head tension is given as 12.4 m-kg. Great attention is given in the instruction about tightening the bolts evenly. Valve clearance is given between .2 - .3 mm. With valves closed. Hope this helps. Paul. |

The shims are for adjusting the injector timing. Add shims to retard, remove shims to advance Todd |
