Talking to the old timers around here, I think a lot of them were buried at sea. They were dismantled and used for wieghts for their trot lines when the outboards replaced them. |

A friend rented a vacation cabin on a cove in New England yrs ago, he noticed a single diver methodically diving the cove for several days and finally out of curiosity met him as he was suiting up one morning, he has been diving many of the coves that have been mooring boats for 100 yrs or so, some of the the anchors to the mooring bouys were Old Marine Engines and he was taking the brass tags off of them ? said he had several dozen ?
I'd like to see that Collection !
