Am atempting a restoration of a F&B LN43. Not sure of model. Prox 1927. Would like to hear from anyone familiar w/ these. Seeking a water cooled manifold for it,also. David |

F&B LN-43 according to Stan Graysons new book; American marine engines 1885-1950. The LN-43 was rates 25-40 hp |

Did it do all this damage running or as part of a difficult disassembly???? |

Thanks for posting pics, Ernie. Yes it was a difficult disassembly. The alum pistons were mostly decomposed but still very rugged skirts. Once I got the cyl block removed from crankcase w/ pistons and rods still inside, I air chiseled a slot the length of the skirt. The odds of finding a good manifold are probably rather slim.I'll fillet it and stitch the internal cracks,pressure test again, then stitch the outer jacket back on. Believe she was sunk, raised and left out for 40 yrs. Pretty rough throughout but I enjoy the challenge. David |
