I inherited two cumming NH200's engines and three twin disc MG125 tranmissions and I am not sure where to get rid of them, I dont want to scrap something that could go to good use.
Any Ideas?

Greetings Arawan,
I would think that the twin disc trans would be worth something but i don't know about the engines. I agree with you not wanting to scrap them. You could advertise them on e-bay (as cores or parts, Take all) "buy it now" price to cover your listing price. I have been watching 'commercial diesel' engines on e-bay and people want an arm and a leg for a old take out core, and they don't know why they don't sell Thanks to the EPA and CARB. Of course in California the tier-0/tier-1 engines are a no-no. Sounds like good engines for an old LCM. What is the approx year of these units?

Casting dates on blocks are 1957 and 1960 the story I'm told is they were rebuilt and set up for storage and there they have sat covered and wrapped in plastic for 10 years. I cant find dates on the 3 twin disc units but I assume they are from the same era. I also ended up with a generator GM/Detriot 271 with big Delco generator attached.

Im sure that you could sell the 2-71 genset no problem, parts are still available. I cut my teeth on the inline 71's - I Overhauled countless numbers of them back in my day., I hope to find a 1-71 one day!
cheers

I have a 2-71 Marine Gen Set Engine, listed on eBay right and have two of them out of Tug Boats, that had runs into California,.they had to change them out to current production Cummins and John Deere Gen Sets. The 2-71 has been in the Gen Set App, for years and been very reliable. I have delt with the 2-71's (Parts and Service)for over 40 years and seen over 9 years of service, before overhaul in a Railroad Refer Car application. (Never shut off, except to change the Fuel Filters)
