I just bought a old sailboat with a Kermath Sea Pup engine in it. Upon further inspection I realized the block was cracked in 2 spots. Is this repairable or do I need a new engine case all together?
Cheers,
michael

That depends entirely on how badly it is cracked, where the cracks are located and whether or not the cracks were caused by freezing or salt water corrosion. If it is the latter, it is not a good thing. First, take some pictures and post them here [must be less than 40K in size] and some of the experts can make an evaluation.

Kermath Sea Pup and Universal Atomic 1 engines are really not repairable once the water jacket is full of rust. (salt water use) Never mind the areas that you can see the real problem is behind the valve area which you can't see and also the castings weren't that thick to begin with
Just trying to save you some aggrevation

Hello Raymond, I see from your profile that your interest is Kermath. I have a Sea Cub ZXBM ZX and am missing the starter and generator. Would you possibly know where I can find these. Do your engines have marine clutches?
Thanks Joe in BC
