* Hi Richard..............Just saw this engine on E-Bay. What make do you think this might be? You can post this on the discussion forum. Thanks Hicksman http://cgi.ebay.com/1920-2Cyl-2-Stroke-Marine-Engine_W0QQitemZ110488531529QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item19b9a13249 ** |

Pictures of the other side of the cylinders will help. possibly... The exhaust manifold is made from pipe fittings so that is possibly not original Swing handle timer Doubt it came with the lunk mixer and since it is most likely a 3 port (2 cylinders to a common manifold) a Schlebler should work fine It does appear that what is here could run with not much more than assembley. 250 and reserve not met ??? but then I squeak when I walk |

* The crankshaft indicates its design was much earlier than 1920's? I tried to blow up photos, kinda hazy, does it look like there are two fittings on top of each corner of the intake manifold and hole underneath ? maybe two port poppet valves ? Five spoke flywheels are fairly rare and I have looked through all my listings with no match. The water intake fittings above the intake ports are unique. Needs mains bored ! ** |

Richard, Why your comment on the crank? Wondering what I am missing. As to the intake possibly valves or maybe just a bosses for oilers. Once again pics of the other side of the cylinders and top view of the manifold will help. I will go on eBay and ask for more pics. If I get them I will post them. As to the flywheel with 5 spokes... Early Palmer in almost all styles and sizes Mianus Watkins Most likely a couple more that escape me right now If this is a subject worthy of discussion (probally is) lets move it out of here soon so it can be easily found. * Crankshaft Straight no tapered flywheel end and no counter weights - thinking out loud - This seems like earlier design than 1920's ?? I research unknown engs with my data base, typing in "5 spoke" it gives me only 8 mfgrs out of 1721 possibilities , the ones you mentioned I know what they look like plus another two so that only leaves me three options to search, but no match ? alas No Perfection as Yet ? * |

Looking at the cylinders the transfer ports are on the front, intake on the side, should be a three port. |

My guess is some sort of a Palmer Q clone. There are a ton of similarities But made by whom? |

This is a new one to me. The carb ports are on the port side, transfer ports are in the front, I really expected to see the exhaust ports in the rear with a channel leading over to the starboard side, like the Watermans. The exhaust ports are on the starboard side, intake and exhaust ports are 90 degrees apart. I would like to see the top of the piston to see how the deflector is made. I really can't see how this would have been an efficient engine. |

JB Plamer has done that on many models B,C,Q,U and S to name a few depending on the year and the top of the piston looks normal like any other 2 stroke. Dick I said lots of similarities not identical. Ernie |

Ernie, Thought I was agreeing with you When I first looked it at I thought it did have a lot of Q similarities but soon also realized no way. |
