Gies Gear Model 1 - what hp is it rat...

I have one here and before putting it behind my 7hp, (probably more like 10hp) Gray Model T, I would like to know if it can handle that much. My 1908 Brooke engined boat uses this gear.It works well, just have to keep the brake band etc adjusted.
