I would really appreciate some advice. Engine number 33767/3116 4 cylinder diesel. This engine is running stone cold. The reason is that the sealed fresh water cooling system has been disconnected and the salt water system has been diverted directly to the block. Because of corrosion worries I want to re-instate the original sealed system. This leaves me with a couple of questions and a couple of problems. The inner (fresh water) part of the heat exchangers are a part of the sump casting and the outer (salt water) portion is bolted on with 24 bolts. What seperates them? I intend removing them when the weather warms up and I'd like to be prepared. It's possible that the plumbing was altered because of heat exchanger blockage. If this is the case can they be cleaned out successfully? The vacumn pressure and relief valve that is supposed to be on the header tank is completely missing. Anybody got one? I know that I could change the header tank and use a modern one with a pressure cap, but I'd prefer to keep it original if I can. The original (CDB 1010-2) combined centrifugal freshwater circulating pump / gear type saltwater pump assembly has been replaced with a circulating ball type. I do not have the original. Anybody got one? Can anyone suggest an alternative reason for altering the plumbing? http://www.best-camping-stoves.com/cobb-cooker.htm |
