OOPS D'ya think there might be some alcohol involved - some things don't change - except now they do it with higher power and sleeker (non-wooden) craft. So, if they only had a smaller , older engine, say 3 HP that ran at 400 rpm - they wouldn't have gotten into the mishap. I wonder if the artist R. Sherman-Kidd was the victim of such an event and decided to immortalize it. miro |

Maybe it was a foggy morning and he did not see the other boat. Although if it was foggy he should have been going slow and from the looks of that penetration they were going fast. Just noticed something is wrong with that pic. I would think if they hit that boat that hard the two guys would be on the other side of the boat in the water. |
