Hello I could buy an old engine, unfortunately have I no notion around which manufacturer it act. The engine probably originates from a boat. More standing 1 cylinder zweitakt engine drilling 105mm stroke 110mm capacity 950ccm Motornummero of 243 carburetors HOMA CARBURETOR D.R.P. Type: 0 No. 923 On the engine is only " B" in the casting and the magneto and the lines of the lubrication are missing. Who can help me over manufacturer type year of construction or even documents. Thanks for each type |

Basic castings to include the seperate main bearing caps sure look Ferro to me. Also the way the water pump would have been horizontal on the back of the base and the exhaust manifold. |

I don't have a clue what that engine is but the B made me wonder if it wasn't a Bolinder. This is the current Bolinder badge.

It does look a lot like a Ferro but the head is different, the vertical rib at the rear of the cylinder is different, the exhaust manifold is similar but different, the flywheel is too wide and the cranking arrangement is something I have never seen on a Ferro. I would vote for the Bollinder.
Find out if it was used in salt water before you purchase it. |

If anyone ever really finds out what it is I am quite sure Ferro had something to do with it. Ferro made engines for many other mfrs including Fairbanks Morse. The top portion of the cylinder was always different but the main bearing caps made of bronze and seperate from the upper half of the crankcase were always the same. I am not saying Ferro made it just that they sold the design, someone stole thier ideas or whatever. Also the mounting area looks a lot thicker on this one than the Similar Ferro |
