Anybody want an engine? P5M. Never seen it working but it looks good. I cant get it to start and I want to sell it or swap for something that will fit my Kestrel 22 sailing boat. I'm not an engineer and this thing keeps me awake at night. |

I am considering buying a sailing boat with a Stuart Turner engine. 9hp, petrol and circa 1972 its raw water cooled. Is this a good engine? Thanks in the hope I get replies |

I think they are a great little engine, as long as you have a good spark and petrol they will go. Keeping the maintenance up on the cooling system is also a must. Matt and Ron. |

Add to those requirements that the spark must come in at exactly the right time especially with the singles. Check the manual and, if you have an impulse magneto, the deal is slightly different. My P5 is always a good starter even flicking the flywheel over, But once I had the timing out and there was nobody home. Not even a backfire. |
