Hi Rob, You might try www.coastalrides.com is there any reason you can not get yours rebuilt? that would be the best way to go if you can. if all goes pear shaped I would look for a copmplete engine on ebay or boats and outboards for sale, the last one I saw, about four months ago, went for £200 in boats and outboards. regards Keith. |

apparently mine is beyond repair due to excess corrosion on the housing, what would be the best replacement in your opinion |

Hi Rob, If you are happy with the engines output and it does the job for you, the cheapest option is to find another one and rob it for parts or fit it in place of yours after having a look at it to make sure it is fit for service, that is the way I would go as they are a good unit old or new. Another thought, there are quite a few twins (MD11b and c) on the market from £350 to £500 if you have that extra little room for it, which is not a lot and I am sure you could squeeze one in with much the same mounts. i have an old Palmer 60 on my Coronado 35 and would like to replace it with a dependable diesel engine. what is the approximate cost of replacing the old Palmer with a rebuilt diesel? Which marine diesel is recommended? |
