Hi All This site was recomended as "The" place to have the identity determined of an early 2 stroke inboard. I have attached two photos of the subject. It's not my engine, but that of a friend who has had it wrapped up and tucked away in the corner of his shop for many years. He has been bugging me with "You can find it on the internet can't you?". Hopefully he's right!!! Thanks and regards Art |

Hi Ernie This post should now likely be moved to a different topic, however I thought I would pass along the results of a little further research, in the hope that some of it might prove of use, and help repay you and the forum for your help. I have included the following patents filed by Edmund Willson Roberts related to these engines. These links to the patents use the Google search, which is indeed a great concept but falls somewhat short in its implementation. I use http://www.pat2pdf.org/ to download error free pdf copies. Compressor (Combined Motor and Compressor) Pat. # 883347 - http://tinyurl.com/cr2ve6 Back Fire Preventer (Cellular Bypass) Pat. # 1101332 - http://tinyurl.com/bymxtt Construction of Cylinders of Internal Combustion Engines Pat. # 1210537 - http://tinyurl.com/bnx9ls Another view of my friend’s engine The following link to an earlier post with a very good match. The basic engine, and perhaps the timer appear the same, with the carb being different. http://www.oldmarineengine.com/discus/messages/3454/103811.html Once again Thank You and Congratulations to the forum – an amazing resource!
