This engine is really too new for this board, but the question fits with some of the salt, rust, and corrosion questions we have had. Maybe Mark or someone else can look at the composition of CLOR-RID and offer an opinion.

We have a Cat 3516 (photos attached), which we are looking seeing it any of it can be reused or not. After reading oldmarinesengines.com, it looks like maybe it cannot.
It was submerged in 300m of ocean for 3 months, then soaked in fresh water for an unknown period, then left to lie in the open air for a few months, before we took delivery the other day.
Anyway, our question is: "Have you ever looked into a product called Chlor-Rid"?

Evan -
Weld up a large tub big enuf to hold the engine. Put the engine in the tub and fill the tub with molasses. Come back in a month and remove the engine - most of the rust will have been removed.
