I need help in identifying this engine. We need a starter, but don't know the engine type or kind....

It is either a Ford or Perkins. I am more inclined to think it is Perkins, with what looks like a CAV Rotary pump. Although some English Ford motors also used the CAV type pumps. Either way, the starter would be a Lucas unit, so I would look in that direction. Hope this is of help. Dave |

I agree sot of. Perkins engines sold in the usa have delco starters mostly. If you can get the numbers off the injector pump, places that rebuild pumps can look them up and find the engine. A ford engine would have a horizontial oil filter with one bolt holding directly to the block. Perkins have verticle oil filters. |
