Is the gray 6-51 not as tall as the 6-71, 6-75, chrysler crown? I have a 1940 Richardson Little Giant. I want to put in more power but my height is restricted. Appreciate any help in finding an engine that has the same height as the 6-51 but more power. Howard |

Hi Howard, I also have a Little Giant which was powered by the 6:51 (which was siezed up} so ive managed to get a 6:71 which isnt fitted yet. As far as i know the size of these engines are the same, i have not noticed any difference. |

As far as i know she was built for the uk as the controls are on the port side. The styling is for around 1936-40 but a nameplate says 1953. This is when i think maybe she was shipped over as it was around this time petrol(gas) rationing was ended.(WW2) As for the 6-71 Howard, im not sure if it actually is as the plate on the gearbox says 6-51. In an earlier post i gave the engine numbers & this is what i was told, the engines look the same though.(Single carb setup). Any info you have on this would be helpful Howard....Thanks ,Mark |
