I have a 1951 Chrysler Crown Special M47S going for a rebuild. I want to do the two carbs myself. It has been suggested that I should "Parkerize" the cast iron parts so they won't rust, and if I don't I'll have nothing but trouble. I have not used this engine myself, so I'm hoping someone might have experience with these carbs and pass it along - do they really suffer if they sit at the dock for a month?
I'm going to be looking for the tools for these - ideas?

I can tell you from 30 years of experince with these carburators setting for a month will not hurt a thing as far as corrosion goes. you may get bad gas if you let them set but nothing horrible. My m47 is in a marine enviorment 365 day a year. The m47 is a very sturdy engine as so are the components of it. |

I am looking for rebuild kits for two updraft Zenith Carbs on a 1957 Chris craft sea skiff, serial number D25705 Fireball 140
Any ideas as to where to get these?
