Just a friendly reminder for all of us. When pics are taken they belong to the person who took them. In many cases we (myself included) copy and paste pics from one web page to another for informational purposes. As a common courtsey (and legal reasons) we all should get the photographers permission to do that. Once again for the record my pics can be used for any non commercial purposes. If they are being used commercially I want to know about it, and that person needs my permission. If one of my pics is being used for a bulletin board or for informational purposes I also would like to know. Only because if it was one of my pics I am most likely interested in the subject or web page it is being used on. |

I agree...
The one place I tend to be a little "more liberal" about grabbing graphics is ebay. I often download images of catalogs, postcard, and ads from items that are posted for sale. Maybe I shouldn't do that... but it seems as though the seller isn't impacted, and the buyer doesn't own it yet. I feel that bringing into my "archive" helps to preserve the information.... but I guess any wrong can be justified...
On the other side of the fence I have had people copy many images from my sites without my permission. I once had someone copy my classifieds site, including the images!!! ...and then tried to advertise his site on my site!

Good reminder, I try to download all pics of Marine engs in a photo file for indentification and comparisons.

That's me on the left and Ernie on the right. I'm not sure who the guy in the middle is... maybe Bill Fiege Jr. ?
Don't let Ernie's looks fool you... he is actually 79 years old, but trys not to show it!
