I have a BUDA MD37 and MD53. The MD37 is overhauled. I originally intended it to be used in my 1936 vintage Danish workboat. Instead, I traded a blown-up Perkins for the newer MD53 (1956). It is a 6cyl, about 65 HP and will hopefully push me along for a while until I can afford something newer or a Gardner. Anyone know of a good source of parts, or has anyone had experience running this engine? Thanks |

Stephan, You don't mention where you live... but here are some sources for Buda parts and information: The Buda Engine Co. Jim Couzins phone 318-222-3348 email [email protected] (I don't know if that works or not now) Also, there is a guy by the name of Chuck Rhoads who has the remaining factory records from Buda. He doesn't have email, by you can write to him at Chuck Rhoads 150 Troy Road Collinsville, IL 62234. Most of what he has seem to be for the stationary and industrial engines. For Buda parts an information you can also try John Paulsen email: [email protected] Regards, Andrew |

Thanks a lot Andrew. I will investigate the sources you've provided. As per my email, I live about 4 1/2 hours north of Seattle in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Getting parts from the states hasn't posed any problems yet, so hopefully I'll be able to complete a rebuild. Thanks again, Stephan King |
