I recently purchased a 1962 Buehler Turbocraft with a Gray Marine 226 ci, 109 hp engine. The engine has a Mallory, model YD, type 411C distributor on it. The bushings in the distributer need to be replaced. Also, the previous owner installed, some sort of, after market electronic parts to replace the condenser and points. I have all of the original internal parts. I would like to have the distributer bushings replaced and rebuilt using the original parts. Can anyone recommend a reliable source for this project, or advice on DIY. I haven't been able to locate a supplier for a cap for this distributor either, can anyone provide me with some information on where to order/buy a replacement cap. Thanks in advance. Jim |

Jim Van Ness Engineering, 252 Lincoln Ave, Ridgewood NJ (201-445-8685) has everything you need for your 109. Dave sells an excellent replacement electronic distributor, other than historic authenticity I can't see why anyone would want to go back to points and condenser. |
