I have a Detriot Diesel with numbers CWC 5125424 145 on the side. I'm pretty sure its a marine engine and a 471. Would like to know more about it or where to find more imformation online, such as year, rated HP @ RPM, FT LB, parts manuel, ect... Some other #'s I found are 504-5001, 4D-77360, 5167741. Some of these are probibly casting #'s.

There are still some things i can see. The valve cover has bolts around the outside like a 53 series, no center hand bolts like a 71. Looks like pully's on the front cam shafts like a 53. So with cwc casting mark i would guess its a 453. The spin on fuel filter would make it a realitively new engine 1970's. Off hand i don't think i have a listing of serial numbers for this engine. I will look later. |
