Help! I've been looking far and wide for a good 70 horse power or better Graymarine 162. I have a 1959 Tollycraft Sportabout. The prior owner had installed a 351 Windsor in it. That's totally insane for a 16ft light mahogany boat. I would like to go back to the original or close to it. Can anyone out there help me? I know some where out there in a dusty old garage or in the corner of Grandpas barn, there's a motor in need of a new home. Don't let a Graymarine go without a family to could call it's own . Don't let it set longing for the open water and the smell of fresh cooked trout.
I know you can help that old Graymarine (with transmission and all componets) find a home.
Thanks, may your engine always run cool and your spark plugs never be fouled.
Dan h.

Dan, I think I have what you need. The tag on the engine says Correct Craft H4175 and the tag on the transmission says Model 70. The engine seems to be 100% complete and rotates easily via the flywheel. I hope this helps you.

Do you have pictures and a price ? When did the engine run last , also where is the engine (What state) ? Some times shipping charges can be pretty high . Last person that had an engine that looked right lived in Spain , BUMMER.
Thanks, Dan H. [email protected]

PS Can you get a picture of the tag on the transmission also .

Dan, I have had this engine for about 15 years. I purchased it for my uncle to install in a Criss Craft runabout but it never happened,he passed away last October. As far as I know it is a running piece and I have the original maintenance hand book as well. I will get the pictures you asked for as soon as I can. The tag on the trans sets on top right at the parting line of the trans and engine. The only information on it is The Model- '70' and some lube info. The tag is about 3 x 3 inches. I am located in a small town in Ohio which is between Cleveland and Pittsburgh or if you wish call me on my cell 330-550 2430 I think it would be more productive. I look forward to hearing from you, I really think this is what you are looking for.
