WHAT EVER BECAME OF THE BOAT "THE BEAST". LAST SEAN IN THE EARLY 60'S IN FREEPORT NEW YORK AT A BOAT YARD ON WOODCLIFT AVENUE. THE BOAT WAS ABOUT 32' LONG, PAINTED HULL, THE NAME "THE BEAST" IN RED LETTERS ON THE SIDES. 12 CYLINDER SCRIPPS POWER ( I DO NOT KNOW THE DISPLACEMENT),AIRCRAFT CONTROLS, AND DOCKING LIGHTS. DOES ANYBODY KNOW THIS BOAT? IT WAS VERY UNIQUE. |

Gerry, Try ACBS.org. Look for the Long Island Chapter and or the New England chapter web pages and see if you can post an inquiry with them. Maybe Dan Acierno in NY who posts on this site knows something.Tom Amato had a big boat yard in the city at that time- he went on to run Penn Yan Marine Manufacturing in the 90's-don't know where is is now unfortunately. |

I have a 30 foot Hacker Craft (1941) with a Scripps V-12 engine (Model 302) in it. I have owned it for 40 years. This boat has painted hull sides with mahogany top deck and a large single front cockpit. It was used by the Coast Guard on Lake Erie in its earlier life. |
