There is a wiring diagram in the manual of MD1B that is available in PDF-format at:

Your best bet would be to put together a separate regulator and solenoid combination. I would recommend the following regulator and their data sheet has a wiring diagram:
http://www.dynamoregulators.com/dvr2-s.php

Solenoid - Wire that was going to 50 on original regulator now goes to one side of the new solenoid coil the other side of the coil goes to ground. The wire that was going to B+/30 (Main Positive Supply) on the original regulator now goes to one side of the switched contacts the other side of the switched contacts goes to 30 on the dynastart.

Regulator Brown - Ground
Regulator Yellow - DF on Dynastart
Regulator Blue - D+ on Dynastart and indicator Light
Regulator Red - +ve supply attach this to what was B+/30 positive supply to the solenoid contacts.

D- on dynastart is common to the casing and is ground this sometimes used to supply negative to the regulator negative terminal 31 and hence if you wish can be how the new regulator brown wire gets its ground.

Cheers
Nobby
